When it comes to digging up support for a great cause, Mount Polley’s personnel and suppliers took their skills from the open pit to the BBQ pit. With each juicy burger flipped, they unearthed a mountain of generosity!
Over a series of BBQs held onsite at the mine (May 16th & 18th and May 30th & June 1st) Mount Polley raised a whopping $11,712 donation to the Mining for Miracles fundraiser – the proceeds of which were donated to BC Children’s Hospital, the chosen charity of Mount Polley and the BC Mining Industry.

Generous Donations from Mount Polley’s Crews
Mount Polley’s four shift crews, namely A CREW, B CREW, C CREW, and D CREW, demonstrated their incredible support for the cause by contributing significant donations totalling $5,567.40.

“Thrill of the Grill” Contest: Contractors and Suppliers Step Up
The “Thrill of the Grill” fundraiser was a friendly competition set amongst Mount Polley’s contractors and suppliers, encouraging them to enhance their donations for a chance to be named the winner as most generous among the generous.
The company that “beefed up” their contribution the most to be named the winner was Alliance Power with a remarkable donation of $5,000.00! The runners-up also deserve recognition for their outstanding contributions:
- 2nd place: Polycorp with a donation of $520.00
- 3rd place: AJ Forsyth with a donation of $320.00
Mount Polley extends its appreciation to all suppliers who donated to the cause. Collectively, their combined donations amounted to an incredible $6,145.00!
With the exceptional contributions of Mount Polley’s personnel and suppliers, the Mount Polley BBQ & Thrill of the Grill fundraiser raised a remarkable total of $11,712.40 for Mining for Miracles. These funds will contribute to the invaluable work carried out by the BC Children’s Hospital, benefiting children and families in need.
